Knitting Nannas of Sth Burnett

Knitting Nannas peacefully and productively protest against the destruction of our land, air, and water by corporations and/or individuals who seek profit and personal gain from the short-sighted and greedy plunder of our natural resources.

About

Good morning on the First Day of Winter 2020. The Sth Burnett Knitting Nannas are not active at the moment as for now the proposed local mine is not going ahead. I will leave the original “About” as background to the group. ” A very warm welcome to all the new folk who have become members of Knitting Nannas recently.Great to have you “in the loop”. If you live near to Kingaroy we hope you can join us on Thursday mornings in O’Neill Sq any time between 11.00am and 2.00pm. If you are working or otherwise unable to come yourself can you invite someone else? We do need lots more Nannas.

WHY?? Moreton Resources will be conducting an information session about their proposed coal mine on the outskirts of Kingaroy. Last month 900 residents attended a public meeting where over 90% voted no to the coal mine. Knitting Nannas will have a presence at meetings to show solidarity for the Kingaroy community. Please wear yellow and black if possible.”
