Knitting Nannas peacefully and productively protest against the destruction of our land, air, and water by corporations and/or individuals who seek profit and personal gain from the short-sighted and greedy plunder of our natural resources.
Knitting Nannas Kingaroy is a group of grandmothers, mothers and businesswomen who have formed a local chapter of the protest movement, the Knitting Nannas to protest developments which they believed would harm the community’s health and quality of life.
Our group was formed in February 201 0 and is primarily a support and research group consisting mainly of local landholders in the Coolabunia area near Kingaroy. We have created a place where Kingaroy community members and others can learn about the proposed coal mine near Kingaroy.
