Born of adversity, driven by hope. Wingecarribee Zero Emissions was an idea that began under the haze of the bushfires, came together during the global pandemic and will continue on for decades. Our goal is to achieve net zero carbon emission for the Wingecarribee Shire by 2050, if not before. We’re an umbrella organisation created to co-ordinate and support the many existing environmental groups within the Southern Highlands. We’re a not-for-profit run by volunteers, donations and goodwill. And if you live in the Southern Highlands, we’re doing all of this for you.

Inform: Shine a light on the truth
It’s your community, your family and your livelihood. You deserve to know what’s going on, so you can make informed decisions about your future. It’s as simple as that. We’ll uncover the facts and then share it with you, so everything’s out in the open.
Support: Source and support sustainable projects
There’s no road map, no set of rules on our journey to net zero. Except we have to eliminate fossil fuels, use less energy & nurture nature. So anything that falls into those three categories, we’d love to hear about it. We’ll assess the viability of the project, weigh up the costs and benefits, and see if we can help. So if you have an idea that needs germinating, a project that needs seed funding, please let us know..
Empower: Make it easy for everyone to take action
