Transition Adelaide Hills is a grassroots group of passionate people, dedicated to building a resilient, sustainable, healthy and inclusive community. We’re a member of the Transition Initiatives movement, an international network of communities that are working to build resilience in response to peak oil, climate change and economic instability http://www.transitionnetwork.org We live in the area encompassed by the Adelaide Hills Council and the District Council of Mt Barker in South Australia. ‘Like’ us to stay informed of our events and activities in the community. We are affiliated with community groups such as The Old School Community Garden at Stirling, Adelaide Hills Climate Action Group, The Hills Electric Bike Project and Adelaide Hills Produce Swap. We host film nights, public forums, hands-on workshops and find interesting speakers to raise awareness and build community resilience as we ‘transition’ to a new way of living.

Transition Adelaide Hills (TAH) formed in 2009 to help our region move towards a more resilient and sustainable future. We are an active group of local people focussed on grassroots, community solutions. We acknowledge the Peramangk and Kaurna peoples, traditional owners of the Adelaide Hills region for many thousands of years, and we acknowledge their spiritual connection to country. The initiating groups, Adelaide Hills Climate Action Group (www.adelaidehillsclimateaction.org) and Adelaide Hills Sustainable Communities, hosted various film and discussion nights as well as stalls at local fairs to promote awareness of climate change and related sustainability issues. Transition Adelaide Hills has continued hosting these events and supporting, initiating and/or promoting other local community projects.
