About

Repower Shoalhaven is a community association with a strong track record in enabling businesses and other organisations to adopt solar power. Our mission is to facilitate the development and implementation of renewable energy to deliver positive outcomes for local communities on the South Coast and SE of NSW. This includes reducing carbon emissions, creating sustainable jobs, keeping money in the local economy through savings created by lower power bills and by investment in solar and other clean energy facilities.

What We Do
Repower Shoalhaven develops community solar projects for business and individuals (community investors) to participate in. It also facilitates the uptake of rooftop solar and batteries by commercial and industrial organisations. Visit ‘For Businesses’ page. In May 2013, local entrepreneur Chris Cooper had a vision of bringing the people of Shoalhaven together to create an innovative crowd funding model to enable local businesses to utilise renewable energy. It made sense, with so many businesses open during the day, but not wanting to outlay capital, that a community investment model be developed to fill this void. Repower Shoalhaven has since helped develop over 24 commercial-scale rooftop solar projects, generating around 1 MWh of electricity per in total.

We also campaign and advocate for meeting the IPCC target of a 50% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 and plans to achieve that, including policy, regulation, programs and funding by Government. We are currently developing a 3 MWac solar farm in partnership with Flow Power. Anyone can join our organisation, allowing you to participate by investing in our projects, participating in our decision making, gaining valuable work experience, or volunteering your time, skills and ideas.

Repower Shoalhaven is a community based, not-for-profit social enterprise with over 7 years of developing community based solutions. Our largest project to date is a 3MW solar farm in South Nowra which is due to be commissioned in late 2021/early 2022.
• Electrifying Everything: Across the country and the globe, the world is stepping up to the challenge of transitioning from fossil fuel generated energy to a low carbon economy.
• Repowering Businesses: Our key aim is to make it easier for businesses and community organisations to save money with renewable energy. We are offering businesses the chance to buy clean, affordable and locally produced energy from our Solar Farm. These are in the form of Power Purchase Agreements with our commercial partner Flow Power.

We have also partnered with renewables developer Mondo to offer businesses solar panels and the option of battery storage with zero or minimal up-front costs.
