Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance

This group is an alliance of 17 committed local government, catchment management, state government, & alpine resort partner that aims to promote and support regional action on climate change.

About

We are a network of 17 committed local government, catchment management, state government, & alpine resort partners across the Goulburn and Upper Murray regions, responding and adapting to climate change through innovative projects and research.

The Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance (GMCA) was established in 2007 as the Goulburn Broken Greenhouse Alliance, to promote and support regional action on climate change. Since 2007 its membership has expanded to 13 local governments, the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, North East Catchment Management Authority and DELWP (Hume). In 2020 the refreshed GMCA was born, recognising Member climate action across the Goulburn and Upper Murray regions of Victoria.

The Alliance works collectively across projects, advocacy and knowledge-sharing. As a non-incorporated organisation the GMCA is auspiced by one Member every four years. The current auspice is Murrindindi Shire Council. Ordinary Meetings are held quarterly, and the Alliance also has specialised governance and officer committees.
