The purpose of the CSSC is to investigate, plan, advise on and nurture mediumtolarge community owned solar energy projects on the Sunshine Coast.
Our Goals
– To achieve the development of a set of tools for community groups to achieve the greater aim of community owned solar energy projects.
– To develop a guidance framework and a set of implementation support materials, as well as advisory services, for enabling and aiding the development of community owned solar energy projects on the Sunshine Coast.
– To draw on the knowledge and effort of community members, as well as drawing on expertise gained from established projects elsewhere in Australia.
– From these inputs and by continually reviewing the needs of our community and the legislative environment we will develop the resources for nurturing local projects.
– To identify starter projects and projects under 100 KW capacity.
– The process is ongoing and learning from these projects is essential to the effective development of a mature and sound framework.
