CLEAN (Climate Landcare Environment Action Network Inc.) was established in Mount Isa in 2007 in answer to the needs and wishes of locals wishing to take action to clean our environment. Our aim is setup a regional network of communities, organisation, committees and individuals working on environment project throughout Western Queensland. CLEAN covers all aspects of environment and is limited in its projects only by the number of people willing to take on environmental projects and available funding.
Clean is structured so that any number of community based projects can be undertaken. The only restriction on the number of project being undertaken is the number of people willing to spare time to undertake environmental work. We are established as an incorporated organisation making it easier for us to apply for funding and we will support any project considered of benefit in any environmental field. Our organisational structure is presently one committee based in Mount Isa because of our very recent inception, however in time we plan to be structured in the fashion shown below. It has been voted by the members at a general meeting that the most important aspect of CLEAN is its independence and that no funding or support will be accepted by CLEAN if it restricts our independence. It follows that projects may be undertaken and funded with restrictive guidelines so long as it does not restrict the initial idea or its outcomes in ways not acceptable by CLEAN or the projects manager or committee.
