About

Coffs Coast Climate Action Group is a local community group working to #StopAdani, move Australia beyond coal & gas, action for a safe climate. Get active! Community action for a safe climate! Coffs Coast Climate Action Group is a community collective taking action for climate justice in and around Coffs Harbour, NSW Australia – Gumbaynggirr Country. Our community’s quality of life depends on a safe climate and stable sea level, but the global climate is already dangerously out of balance. We’re dedicated to mobilising our community for real, rapid action to stop carbon emissions, leave coal and gas in the ground and transition to 100% renewable energy. We organise regular film nights, forums, market stalls, protests and other campaign actions – join us! Stopping climate change is the most important battle of our time – we need everyone to play a part! We meet twice a month, on the first and third Thursday at 5 for 5:30pm, at the Coffs Community Village on Earl Street, Coffs Harbour (behind Coles)

Coffs Coast Climate Action Group is an open, community group – local people working for action on the climate crisis. We’re building a people-powered movement for a fast & fair transition away from coal & gas to 100% renewable energy and a safe climate future.

Coffs Coast Climate Action Group is an open, diverse and energetic group of local residents working together to promote action to stop climate change. We campaign for an urgent transition away from fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) towards renewable energy. We formed in late 2013, following a gathering of 300 people for the National Day of Climate Action at the Harbourside Markets (pictured above). Our vision is for a safe and stable climate which supports our community’s quality of life for future generations. Our mission is to work with our community to promote action on climate change. We seek to
inspire our community with a positive vision of our future; a future powered by clean, renewable energy; a future which we are all a part of creating. While recognising the immediate and growing threats of climate breakdown, requiring an emergency scale response, we also see opportunities for the Coffs community and local economy in sustainable jobs, regional development, cheaper electricity and increased energy security through decentralised energy production.
