At Greenfleet, we work to connect people with real climate action. We’re experts in restoring ecosystems in Australia and New Zealand; and our reforestation projects deliver many environmental benefits. The ecosystems we rebuild capture carbon from the atmosphere, provide vital habitat to native wildlife, conserve biodiversity, prevent soil erosion and help filter water.
We’re proud to partner with Disney, Greenfleet’s longest standing supporter, to help protect one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet: the Great Barrier Reef. ‘Remember The Reef’ is a campaign launched by the Walt Disney Company, aiming to raise awareness of the decline of the reef and inspire people to make a difference. As part of the ‘Remember the Reef’ campaign, Greenfleet will plant trees in the upper catchment of the Great Barrier Reef as well as restore mangroves along coastal wetlands. Restored wetlands store carbon and filter sediment and toxins flowing from the Queensland hills into the Great Barrier Reef, thereby improving water quality so new coral can grow. This has a domino effect, in that Greenfleet’s revegetation work in these areas is a sustainable, long-term approach to protect the reef we all love and cherish.
Celebrity Ellen de Generes, AirBnB and the SEA LIFE Trust “Remember the Reef” too! Their support is raising awareness and funds to protect the Great Barrier Reef. You can make a difference too! Join us in protecting this unique place in the world by making a donation and visit Remember The Reef to find how else you can get involved.
