Conserve the beard, conserve our environment. 2015 Mission: To have as many people register in the Winter Blanket Challenge to help raise 20K which will allow thousands of native trees to be planted in local community and projects through Landcare Australia’s programs. Every $2 donated plants a native tree. Grow your beard and or sponsor a beard to help reach this target. Come along and take part in planting the trees you helped to raise funds for. Objective: Grow for Growth and start a Conversation about Conservation. Walking talking billboards supporting conservation.
ABOUT BEARDSON
BEARDSON is an Australian community based, not-for-profit, environmental organisation that promotes conservation awareness. WE ARE A FUNDRAISER! Our aim is to preserve existing habitats and maintain healthy and sustainable ecosystems, this is achieved with funds raised distributed to nominated organisations, community groups and schools. We intend to achieve these goals through increased education, encouraging more direct community participation and by promoting campaigns that call for the protection of wilderness areas and local community areas.

The Winter Blanket Challenge encourages men and women to grow an individual and unique beard/map of Tassie or braids for conservation. Make a statement that reflects your personality and lifestyle as well as your values. All kinds of shapes, sizes, patches and stylish attitudes are welcome to help promote the importance of conservation for future generations. Put down your razors, shavers, creams and blades, to help reduce plastic in the environment (and even electricity) for three months of winter and grow your very own winter blanket to raise money for conservation. You can choose the category that best reflects your personality and lifestyle – Solo, Wolf Pack, Tassie Team or BRAIDSON Team.

Tassie for Tassie – Push the Bush! Women are encouraged to take part in the 90 day Winter Blanket Challenge by growing the iconic map of Tassie. Female supporters also have the option of not shaving their legs or any other part of their body. Send in a photo with your hands outlining a map of Tassie over your committed heart or any part of your REAL DEAL body! Refer to Registration page.
BRAIDSON
This category is for women, children, and anyone who can’t easily grow a beard or TASSIE FOR TASSIE but who want to show their support. BRAIDSON is run during the same 90 days of winter with BEARDSON under the Winter Blanket Challenge. There is the choice to use your own hair making braids, plats, wraps or any other funky styles. Or make Eco-friendly bamboo or hemp thread hand-made braids, wraps, anklets, bracelets and necklaces to show your support.Register before you take on the Winter Blanket Challenge and choose which category that best suits you and your lifestyle.
