About

Baby Boomers for Climate Change Action (BBCCA) was formed in 2012 by a group of mostly older people people from the eastern and south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne Australia, who saw the need for Australia to urgently move away from fossil fuels and towards large scale renewable energy sources. The threat posed by climate change to the lives of our children, grandchildren, and future generations is we feel, extremely potent.

The aims of the group are to:
mitigate climate change through a rapid switch to renewable energy and a rapid decrease in fossil fuel export, and to leave a beautiful and liveable planet for future people.

Strategies adopted to do this are:
– raise community awareness of the threat that climate change poses to future generations
– lobby politicians and others with the power to make positive change, via emails, letters and personal contact, to address the dangers posed by climate change
– encourage other baby boomers to establish a similar group in their area.
