About

What is The Australian Solar Council? The Australian Solar Council is the peak industry body for the solar industry in Australia. We represent companies in solar hot water, large-scale solar thermal concentrating plants, solar PV (at all scales), solar passive design and energy-efficient materials. We also represent solar customers and consumers, and provide expert advice to governments and the public. As a not for profit organisation we trace our history back to 1954 in Australia. Increasingly solar is joining with energy storage, and smart energy management systems to provide a complete solution for customers.

The Australian Solar Council is committed to high-quality long-term solar solutions. We urge consumers to buy solar based on long-term value not a cheap sticker price. As an organisation we are committed to ‘solar for a sustainable future’. A volunteer board administers the Australian Solar Council. We have become the National Voice of Solar.
