About

350 Central Queensland is a link in the global climate justice network 350.org. For creative action, a safe climate, indigenous sovereignty and sustainable peace.

350.org Central Queensland is an affiliate of the global 350 movement – a movement which aims to bring awareness about the increasing reality of climate change. We are a grassroots, global movement uniting voices and citizens everywhere, encouraging everyone to challenge the status quo and raise their voices to the sky in the fight against climate change.

350 garners its name from 350ppm – the safest upper limit prescribed by scientists for carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. In 2013 we broke the 400pm barrier, unprecedented carbon dioxide levels for the modern era.
Nowhere is this more relevant than Queensland. Coal mining & rail expansion in the Galilee Basin is increasing – not even iconic nature refuges are standing in our way! The effect these activities will have on the iconic Great Barrier Reef pose immediate and real threats to our State. More than ever before, the time for action against climate change is now.
