This is the page of the Inner South Brisbane Wilderness Society volunteer group. Welcome to the Inner South Brisbane Wilderness Society page. We’re residents from the local community who have formed a volunteer group as part of the Wilderness Society’s ‘Movement for Life’ community organising program. We’re passionate about advocating for environmental issues affecting our local and regional community. We are a diverse group of concerned community members from many walks of life, backgrounds, and ages. We’re united by our desire to effect positive change for the environments we know and love. Moreover, the group aims to form the basis of a long-term support base in our community for environmental issues.
Our objective: To engage with our local community to raise awareness and facilitate coordinated action on promoting the wellbeing of people and nature.
Key issues of concern:
Local: excessive waste production in the South Brisbane region, especially non-biodegradable plastics.
State: unsustainable land clearing practices in Queensland.
