Greater Western Sydney is a very large region, with a population close to 2 million people. If it was a city by itself, it would certainly be up there in the top four largest cities, just ahead of Perth. It is also an extremely diverse region, with a broad range of demographics in terms of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
This size and diversity means there is certainly no shortage of individuals who are passionate for climate action and a sustainable future. Yet, for many of us who take interest in this matter and are involved in the climate and environment movement, it can frequently feel like a challenging region to organise, build awareness and achieve outcomes. Whether you’re someone who is an active organiser in the region for the climate or environment movement or interest in sustainability and curious to find ways of getting involved locally, this is a fantastic opportunity.
