Sustainable Greensborough was founded in March 2017, with the aim of sharing our passion for the environment and living sustainably with each other, and with our communities of Greensborough and Watsonia, to build resilience and to reverse our carbon footprint. Greensborough is located approximately 17km North East of Melbourne, Australia and resides within the Banyule Council area.
Sustainable Greensborough have been running events and workshops (you can check out the posters in the Past Events), as well as getting involved in discussions with Banyule Council, for the past two years now. We are part of the international Transition Movement, and are one of 6 localised Transition groups in Banyule. The Transition Movement aims to reduce or eliminate communities’ reliance on fossil fuels, while building stronger, more engaged connections between neighbours and the wider community.
We have learned a lot, and we hope to continue that learning, and expand our connections into the communities of Greensborough and surrounds. We welcome anyone and everyone who wants to learn more about sustainability, who wants to share their passions with like-minded people, and who wants to make a difference in the world. We believe that if we all learn, do, and support each other, we can build the future that our children deserve. So if you have even a little bit of time, and you want to do something for the environment, and for your children’s future, come along and say hi. It can be done and we’d love to meet you!
