SEE-Change is a grass-roots sustainability organisation based in Canberra. We are focussed on making beneficial changes to our Society, Environment and Economy (SEE) in order to live more sustainably. Formed in 2008, SEE-Change is unique in that it delivers sustainability information, activities and programs through its volunteer-led SEE-Change groups. The work of our volunteer groups is supported by part-time staff in our office in the Downer Community Centre. As well as supporting volunteers – staff co-ordinate extra projects and activities based on their passions. Volunteers are paid members of SEE-Change – $10 for unwaged and $25 for waged per year.

We also offer a range of volunteering and university intern positions at the SEE Change office.
Our Strategy
The SEE Change Strategy is a live document that guides our work over 2022-2025. The role of the SEE Change Board is to help refine this document and guide the strategic direction of the organisation. Over 2022-2025, SEE Change will focus on the following aims to support Canberra transition to a Low Carbon and Zero Emissions city. • Growing the ability of SEE Change to make a difference.
• Reduce emissions from transport, including through uptake of active travel
• Adopt energy and carbon efficiency practices in homes, businesses and community buildings
• Adaptation and resilience in the face of climate change
• Creation of a world class regenerative economy and lifestyle in Canberra
• Reduce overall consumption of goods, avoid waste and improve waste management
• Enhance biodiversity in the ACT and surrounding regi
We are a not-for-profit incorporated association and a registered environmental charity. SEE Change’s core funding is provided by the ACT Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate over three year periods.
