Macedon Ranges Green Energy Coalition aims to persuade our local council to implement the aspiration…. and persuading fellow citizens to sign the Macedon Ranges Shire Council Clean Energy Petition.
To the Macedon Ranges Shire Councillors
The threat of climate change requires effective government action at all levels. The undersigned are requesting that theMacedon Ranges Shire Council recognise their responsibility in this urgent task.
We, the undersigned, therefore ask the Council to make formal and binding commitments to:
1.producing a “road map” for Council carbon neutrality by December 2015;
2.becoming a carbon neutral organisation by 2020; and
3.purchasing and/or producing 50% of all Council’s electrical supply from renewable sources by 2015 and 100% by 2016, including, but not limited to,
installing solar panels on Council buildings.
