Healesville Community Renewable Energy was established in 2017, after a town meeting attended by over 230 residents, one of the largest community meetings in the town’s history. The vision of this group of passionate local volunteers is to transition Healesville into a Net-Zero town within ten years – by 2027. We are very conscious that we won’t achieve this ambitious vision alone, but with the support and involvement of the whole community.
Healesville Community Renewable Energy aims to increase awareness of how local communities working together can impact climate change, increase community resilience and contribute to the reduction of the community’s carbon footprint. It’s time to unleash the power of communities to address local energy needs.
