The following organisations have replied to our queries about their position on investment in the coal and gas industries: Southern Cross Credit Union – Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Mullumbimby “As a community credit union, Southern Cross Credit Union’s primary use of funds is lending to people within our community of northern NSW and south east QLD for personal loans, housing, investment and, to a lesser extent, commercial properties and businesses.” Bank of Queensland – Byron Bay, “As a smaller bank, we are not involved in financing large mining projects but do lend money to some small and medium sized businesses who could have either direct or indirect exposure to the mining sector.” Summerland Credit Union – Bangalow, Ocean Shores “Summerland does not have any loans to organisations involved in the fossil fuel exploration/export business.
