We demand that the University of Technology Sydney divest from fossil fuels, implement sustainable investment practices and switch to 100% renewables. University divestment from fossil fuels is important because the world is in a climate emergency and we cannot afford for our large, public institutions to be supporting the fossil fuel industry through investments. University divestment will not only affect the fossil fuel industry financially, but it will also erode its social license to operate. The University has made a number of commitments to sustainability including the Taillores Declaration, the ATN Declaration of Commitment to Local, National and Global Sustainability and a public promise to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2020. It is time the University fulfilled these commitments. Sign the petition to vice chancellor Ross Milbourne asking that UTS divest now! http://campaigns.gofossilfree.org/petitions/fossil-free-uts
