Our university should be an institution for progress and knowledge. Continued investment in coal, gas & oil props up the corporations that are perpetrating climate change. USYD needs to join cities, religious orgs & the World Bank & go fossil free.
Students from different Sydney universities are gathered here at the PwC offices in Parramatta saying that they do not want a graduate position with a company associated with the Minerals Council of Australia! #CutAllTies #PwCProud. Students of USyd are affected by the climate crisis now and will be into the future. The university’s $22 million in investments in the fossil fuel industry are not the sustainable option. Divest now. The University has created an online “idea wall”. Check it out and vote for our ideas! They are:
