Extracting oil, coal and gas investments from the University of Wollongong. Australian universities currently invest heavily in the fossil fuel industry, an unsustainable industry which is destroying the planet and making a quick buck along the way. As a part of the international campaign to get all universities and public organisations to go fossil free, we’re getting the University of Wollongong to divest its money from fossil fuel companies.
Divestment is really just the opposite of investment. It means getting rid of any assets in morally ambiguous industries (in this case, fossil fuels).
