No to SEISMIC BLASTING in the Otway Basin! Several XR Westside rebels joined a rally of over a hundred people in Ocean Grove on Sunday 6 Jan. A street march ended at Ocean Grove Lookout where there were speakers from the organisers; Otway Coastal Environment Action Network (OCEAN) and SOPEC – Southern Ocean Protection Embassy Collective and OCEAN – Warrnambool. Hello 2024! Westside rebels are back again at our favourite pedestrian bridge over Ballarat Road, displaying banners with ‘New Gas = Climate Chaos = Fires, Floods, Extinctions’ and other messages on each side of the bridge.
Over 70 people were arrested at XR’s December Rebellion as part of our ongoing effort to build a mass movement and demand a safe future for all. Some of those people can afford to pay their fines, but some of them can’t, so if you have capacity to help them cover their costs please donate to our fundraiser and show your appreciation and support.
Westside XR came together to celebrate another year of bold climate actions. There’s still quite a lot happening over the end of December and January, but with luck everyone will have a chance to take it a bit easy for a while. We’ll be coming back in 2024, even bolder and better!
