About

The Clarence Schools Sustainable Initiative is an effort between MacKillop College, Clarence City Council, and Sustainable Living Tasmania to work with all 25 schools in Clarence to fully implement their $50,000 from the Fed Govt’s Natl Sustainable Schools Program. We are showing that schools can work together to achieve sustainability improvements. It is in effect a Climate Action group operating on the education level.

Meetings: We are an email-list based group, but we have occasional on site meetings when we need to view a particular installation.

Supporters: 25 schools, of which 12 are active. We are expanding our efforts to support the entire Catholic sector as well as the public schools are getting more support directly from the State Govt; as well as the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI), Sustainable Living Tasmania, Clarence City Council, and the Tasmanian Centre for Global Learning.
