Our Aim
To build a collaborative network that makes better use of our resources, minimises waste and creates a happier, stronger, more sustainable community; to foster regenerative systems which support the community, government to reduce GHG emissions and promote energy efficiency.
Objectives for 2021
In the coming year, we want to focus on these areas,
Communication – to build community support for our aims we will focus on improving our website, social media presence, newsletters and local media output.
Climate Change Risk Management – Support and encourage the State Government, Council, Business and community to address the issues effectively.
Transport – work with a coalition of groups to advocate for a comprehensive integrated transport plan to achieve,
Uptake of ride-sharing and car-sharing programs
Reduction in cost of electric vehicles.
Improvements and integration of public transport
Development of community transport
Improvement of infrastructure for bike riding and walking
Waste – We will work with other groups to reduce organic waste and increase employment through recycling and composting.
Can you help? We need,
Writers – to turn our sometimes prosaic prose to purposeful polemics.
Reviewers – to critically review and discuss Government plans and policies and our own submissions to make them better.
Website Wiz- to transform our website to a one-stop-shop for all things CE in the HV
Legal, Financial, Governance – to keep us on track
Economists – but only circular ones!
Organisers – to make events happen efficiently and safely.
Discussion Forum Moderators – to keep it polite and productive.
Committee Member – Limit of 9 and not for everyone … but the biscuits are free.
