The federal election is weeks away. Right now, we have a critical opportunity to speak up and make sure all of our political leaders know that we won’t settle for anything less than a government with a plan for real climate action. That’s why we’re hosting Youth on the Mic: an online, inter-organisational, youth-led forum, inviting political candidates to listen to young people about the issues impacting us the most. We’re taking the microphone back to tell our stories and elevate the experiences of those on the frontlines of the climate crisis. It’s our chance to speak directly to our leaders, and ramp up the pressure for the huge climate commitments we need. Join us on Wednesday, 13 April, from 6:30PM VIC/NSW/ACT/TAS/QLD | 6PM SA/NT | 4:30PM WA!
On the night, you’ll hear from young people across the continent sharing their experiences and talking about the solutions they want to see. We’ll have speakers from AYCC, Seed, Democracy in Colour and the National Union of Students. We’ll also have in attendance:
• Amanda Rishworth, Labor Shadow Minister for Youth
• Jordon Steele-John, Greens Senator and Youth portfolio holder
Accessibility information: Youth on the Mic will have an AUSLAN interpreter, on-screen captioning, accessibility support staff, and follow all of AYCC’s accessibility norms. Please contact Lee via the email below if have further queries or requests.
