Victoria: a climate leader?
The November 2014 election showed the gulf in climate aspirations between the Coalition and the ALP. Our election campaign kept climate change, renewable energy and energy efficiency at the forefront of candidates’ and voters’ minds in key marginal seats, and helped secure a range of policy commitments from the ALP. A number of processes are underway as a result, such as the review of the Victorian Environment Protection Authority and the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency action plans. We continue to contribute significantly to each of these processes, which are providing an excellent vehicle for Victoria to become the strong leader on climate that the community expects.
