About

Farmers for Climate Action is committed to building support for climate action from our political leaders. We are running an open letter to thank NSW Nationals Leader John Barilaro for showing strong leadership on climate, and to demand the Federal National Party follows his lead and supports climate solutions. If you’re a farmer from NSW and are interested in adding your name to the open letter, please put your details below.

Dear NSW Nationals Leader and Deputy Premier, John Barilaro
Cc Gladys Berejiklian, Matt Kean and Adam Marshall

We the undersigned are farmers from across NSW. We would like to thank you for your leadership in setting bold climate targets that will reduce emissions and create job opportunities across regional NSW. The plan cements NSW as a national climate leader and has demonstrated that ambitious climate action will create new jobs and investment. The plan, which is expected to attract $37 billion in private sector investment into NSW, support more than 9000 jobs, save households about $130 on their electricity bills and help NSW become Australia’s first trillion-dollar state by 2030. We call on the Federal National Party to follow your lead by supporting strong action on climate, including the phasing out of coal-fired power plants in Australia, as well as a strong net-zero target and support for farmers in reducing their on-farm emissions.

Let’s get on with it. Farmers are counting on you. Signed.
