About

Community Engagement
• Active campaigning against the “New Pilbarra” proposed by Martin Ferguson and the Baillieu Government.

Further information from Newspaper The Great Southern Star, July 2012: ‘Recently, our State Government has opened up vast areas of rich fertile farmland in Gippsland to companies who wish to develop open cut coal mines, with much of it intended for export. Martin Ferguson calls it the ‘New Pilbarra’. Gippslanders have had very little say in the decision making and object to the prospect of much of the best agricultural land in the State being destroyed forever by an industry which has a questionable future.’
