RAISE YOUR VOICE TO PROTECT DARWIN HARBOUR. Do you want a toxic petrochemicals industry in Darwin Harbour? The NTEPA is calling for submissions on a referral for a massive proposal that will change Darwin forever.
They’re calling it the “Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct”, but we’re calling it out for what it is: unprecedented industrialisation of Darwin Harbour on a vast scale. We’re talking multiple petrochemical, plastic, fertiliser and other factories in the middle of Darwin Harbour. We know from experience elsewhere just how toxic these facilities can be to human health, the marine environment and our air quality. Just imagine smoke stacks, pipes and crackers obliterating the Darwin Harbour skyline. We know that the residents of Darwin and Palmerston love Darwin Harbour and want to see it remain safe and healthy for the decades to come.
That’s why we’re asking you to write a submission about this proposal, telling the NTEPA what you think and asking for a public inquiry into this potential disaster. You can use our proforma submission, or write your own unique submission using this submission writing guide here. Find out more about the Love Darwin Harbour campaign here.
