Indigenous people in Australia suffer massive disadvantage – many indigenous people live in “third world” conditions, without access to safe drinking water, healthy food, decent accomodation or reasonable education. Indigenous people live on average a full 20 years less than the average non-indigenous Australian. As the traditional owners of Australia, their precious knowledge about sustainable management of Australia’s land is being squandered or in may cases totally lost.
