ACT Government to divest coal, oil and gas shareholdings

About

The ACT Government is well known for its action on climate change. Its legislated 40% emissions reduction target by 2020 and its goal of 90% (since increased to 100%) renewable energy for the same year are world leading. However, prior to September 2015 the ACT Government was investing in some of the world’s biggest coal, oil and gas companies. During 2014 and 2015, 350 Canberra lobbied the ACT Government to divest these shareholdings. Our position, and the story of this campaign, can be found here. We continue to monitor the ACT’s shareholdings. Our analysis can be found here. SIGN THE PETITION.
