The Divestacon campaign will pressure Questacon (the National Science and Technology Centre) to demonstrate real concern about climate change, by (a) publicly terminating its partnership with Shell; (b) including climate change and fossil fuel realities in its exhibitions and displays; and (c) taking full account of climate science in its community education and awareness raising role.
We are aiming for these outcomes:
[1] Questacon (or Shell, or the Government) makes a decision by 2019 to replace Shell as a sponsor, after its current five year contract expires.
[2] Questacon makes a decision by June 2018 to give climate change a visible place in its exhibitions and displays
[3] The Questacon campaign becomes an ongoing news story, with satisfactory levels of social and mainstream media coverage.
