Commbank Campaign

This campaign called on Commonwealth Bank to publicly commit to not funding Adani.
We call on The Commonwealth Bank to publicly rule out funding Adani.

About

In the fight to keep fossil fuels in the ground and stop the Galilee Basin we call on The Commonwealth Bank to publicly rule out funding Adani. Indian mining giant Adani needs financing for the Abbot Point coal port which will unlock the mega cola mines in the Galilee Basin. This single project, in a nation with 0.3% of the world’s population, would produce 6% of the carbon necessary to take the planet past a 2C temperature rise, the red line set by the world’s governments.

It’s time to step things up and put CommBank’s reputation on the line — either they heed our call and publicly rule out their involvement OR they face a creative & unrelenting divestment campaign. From 19-23 May we “raised the heat” on CommBank around Australia and the globe. Now it’s time to keep the heat up. In Canberra we will be meeting regularly to discuss action leading up to another nationwide effort in July.
