While elements of a coastal pathway have merit, some proposed sections along the 73km alignment represent unacceptable environmental and amenity impacts and should be avoided. Such impacts cannot be justified to simply fulfil the “vision” of a continuous, mostly concrete, pathway.

SCEC has initially assessed some of key northern links and prepared this attached pro-forma submission for the Stumers Creek Coolum to Birrahl Park Yaroomba sections with some points to assist you. submission-proforma-1- coastal-pathway We are also in the process of preparing a more comprehensive submission. The Coastal Pathway Master Plan community consultation period and survey officially closes on 23 December 2016. In recognition of the busy festive season, and in response to some requests from the community for an extension to the feedback period, Council advises that although the close-off date will not be extended, Council will accept late submissions up to and including 28 February 2017.
