Australia is at a crossroads… We can unleash the power of the sun and wind to provide clean, safe, affordable and reliable energy for all. Or we can choose to keep burning fossil fuels that pollute our atmosphere and warm our planet, causing extreme weather and threatening our health, our economy, and the places we love, like the Great Barrier Reef. Continuing to burn fossil fuels is unaffordable, in every sense. That’s why we at Solar Citizens teamed up with our friends at GetUp! to come up with The Homegrown Power Plan. It shows how we can repower the country with renewable energy, reboot our failing electricity system and remove the roadblocks holding back the renewables boom. We’re celebrating the release of The Homegrown Power Plan with the #capturethesun2030 photography competition… and we hope you’ll join us
Instagram photography competition
From Bondi to Cottesloe, from Shipsterns to Mindil Beach, this celebration of the sun aims to shine a light on the power of our closest star and build momentum for solar energy in Australia. On the Spring Equinox, Thursday September 22, the top ten most liked photos were judged by a panel of professional photographers including Gary Heery, Simon Harsent and Michael Corridore.
