This successful campaign aimed to stop live shark finning in Australia. "We continue to work towards a ban in the export and import of shark fins in Australia, to stop our involvement in this terrible trade."

The Australian Marine Conservation Society has worked hard to see this overarching policy developed to guide the wise use and care of Australia’s marine environments. Now that the policy is in place, we continue to campaign for its effective implementation in all jurisdictions.

In June 2011, after a long campaign by AMCS and our conservation colleagues, the Ningaloo Coast was listed as World Heritage by the United Nations.
