Amongst other impacts, the effects of warming conditions on the Keppel region reefs are of particular concern as predictions are that coral bleaching will become an annual event within the next 30-50 years time. Reducing greenhouse emissions is the key to halting and reversing anthropogenic climate change impacts. CCC is continually lobbying the State and Federal Governments to reduce Australia’s greenhouse emissions and to urge other countries to do so too through agreements such as the Kyoto protocol.
CCC continues to lobby the State and Federal Governments to reduce emissions targets and to focus less on carbon trading and more on the development of renewables and alternative energies.
The essence of this campaign is to deluge Kev with images from you and your mates, sports and social clubs, schools and churches showing how much you support reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emmissions
This AYCC campaign asked supporters to "adopt" their local candidates to teach them about the urgent need to act on climate change.
This campaign focussed on holding conversations, door-knocking and community building in regional Queensland. "We know community-building is crucial in Regional Queensland, and we’ve got a lot of work to do to understand and change our communities' understanding of climate change and community power."
