The Healthy Energy Initiative is a global collaboration of health professionals, health organizations, and health researchers engaging in science-based advocacy for a move away from fossil fuel-based power generation—particularly coal—and toward clean, renewable, healthy energy options.
A campaign “Voices for the Murray-Darling” which is calling for the development of a plan for the Murray Darling Basin to revive the wetlands and rivers, with environmental flows based on credible science.
CAHA is part of the Lifeblood campaign to protect the Murray Darling Basin river system: our nation’s core artery of freshwater – our lifeblood... The development of the Murray Darling Basin Plan, to which the federal government has committed $12 billion, must include assisting communities to transition to ones in which there is sustainable use of water for social and economic purposes.
CAHA has joined dozens of organisations, including Oil Change International, calling for an end to fossil fuel subsidies. In addition to signing a joint statement, we participated in a Twitter campaign #endfossilfuelsubsidies during the recent Rio+20 Earth Summit calling on Australian and international governments to end fossil fuel subsidies.
