The Agriculture and Environment Committee recently handed down its report into the Vegetation Management (Reinstatement) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2016 (the VMROLA Bill). The Bill amends the vegetation management framework to reinstate many of the provisions which were in the Vegetation Management Act 1999 prior to the regressive changes made by the former Newman government in 2013.

Recently, the NSW government passed new laws that will unleash a wave of tree clearing across the state. Many of our most iconic animals like koalas, quolls and pygmy possums are already on the brink. Tell Premier Gladys Berejiklian: keep our endangered wildlife and their homes off limits from clearing!

Campaigned successfully with other like minded groups against the Prime Minister’s stated aim of handing over its responsibilities under its principal environment law, the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act to State Governments. Campaigned sucessfully against allowing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) for native forests.
