This campaign targeted the Morrison government demanding they strengthen their net zero by 2050 climate target to a net zero by 2035 target, with a 75% reduction in emissions by 2030.
Frackers are required to offset the emissions they pollute, but currently, the laws leave it vague on who exactly is paying for these offsets. This campaign targeted federal minister Chris Bowen and state/territory climate ministers, demanding that polluters pay for these offsets.
This campaign saw supporters lobbying MPs about Galilee Basin in Queensland for coal mining, and of existing and new coal port development on The Great Barrier Reef. It included letter writing and designing/sending reef post cards.
Held during 2012, 2013 and 2014 and aimed at Federal politicians, lobbying for Australia to move away from fossil fuels and towards renewables. We designed and printed our own postcards.
Since candidates have started announcing they’d run for Ballarat City Council in October’s elections, BCAN have been sending out a survey designed to gauge how effectively they would lead and support council to reduce the impact of climate change.
