We are working with dozens of community groups who are determined to challenge this short term planning, by mobilising public support for new laws to prevent the sell-off of parks, by keeping and extending our shade giving trees, and preserving remaining bushland habitat.
After a ten year campaign the NSW State Government announced in May 2010, they could NOT proceed with their plans to operate an open cut coal mine. However, the decision only referred to an open cut mine. NOT an underground mine. In February 2012, Bickham Coal Company announced plans to investigate underground mining.
Active campaigning continued to build around the country against ocean outfalls, oil pollution and other direct threats to marine and coastal environments.
Campaign targetting NSW Premier Mike Baird, calling for: A minimum fair price for exported solar, A fair transition for solar owners on the 60c/kW feed-in price, Laws to stop discrimination against solar owners.
Recently, the NSW government passed new laws that will unleash a wave of tree clearing across the state. Many of our most iconic animals like koalas, quolls and pygmy possums are already on the brink. Tell Premier Gladys Berejiklian: keep our endangered wildlife and their homes off limits from clearing!
