Main Issue of the Campaign:

Campaign Ran From: 1992 to 1995

Campaign Outcome:

Outcome Evidence: There appears to be numerous ocean outfall projects underway such as by Harvey Water, which proposed to construct and operate a pipeline and ocean outfall to dispose brine wastewater in 2021. In 2023 the Australian Local Government Association called for a national policy on ocean sewerage outfalls, noting that 'The total volume of wastewater discharged to Australia’s oceans in 2016 was 1350 gigalitres: equivalent to 2.7 Sydney harbours.' This indicates that the campaign goal was not achieved. (Ascertained June 2024)
