Logging and mining are decimating Tassie's spectacular forests every day. We’ve lost too much ancient forest already. We know there is a better way to do business. Continuing down this path will only damage more irreplaceable forests and fail more local communities.
The Wilderness Society is working with a range of local groups to build a different vision for the Kimberley – one that is based on protecting and respecting the region’s unique natural and cultural riches, not trying to impose outdated industrialisation on the landscape.
The TCT is focused on making broad and fundamental changes to how waste is managed in Tasmania. We lobby the state government, councils and regional waste management groups to set strategic direction and provide incentives for development of new ways to reuse, recycle and treat all waste streams.
Through our ‘Wildlife Matters’ program the TCT wants to educate the public on what they can do to protect wildlife, including practical tips on living with wildlife.
Using a grant from Energy Consumers Australia, TEC is developing a position with other energy consumer groups on the regulation of the battery market.
