Korean power company Kepco has lodged an application with the NSW Government to develop a 6.5 million tonne coal complex comprising two open-cuts and an underground mine in the iconic and gorgeous Bylong Valley. The government is taking public submissions on the company's Environmental Impact Statement until 6th November 2015.
The coal seam gas (CSG) export industry in Australia is causing gas prices to rise. The solution is for Australian Governments to introduce measures to protect Australian consumers and businesses from the price hike now and into the future, such as a national interest test, and to support alternative sources of energy that are safe and don't threaten our land and water.

AGL has 17,000 square kilometres of exploration area. The Broke area is only 72 square kilometres. Sydney Gas say that at least 70% of that is unavailable to them because of houses, orchards, vineyards, waterways, etc., so we are only asking that 21 or so square kilometres be protected from their gas field. Please put a sign on your fence.
