Ports North, is proposing to undertake a major dredging operation in Trinity Inlet, however there are serious environmental risks and major community concerns with the proposal. This campaign targets the QLD Government to stop the dredging.
With nearly 1 million square kilometres of deep blue water, coral reefs, and spectacular marine life, the Coral Sea Marine Reserve is truly an incredible win for our ocean. But right now, the reserve exists only on paper, not yet on water. This campaign urged the Environment Minister Tony Burke to make final amendments to the management plan.
Last weekend’s king tides totally inundated the proposed coal export terminals in the Fitzroy delta. Aerial photographs clearly show both the proposed Fitzroy Terminal and Xstrata terminal sites covered by the ocean, leaving only the tops of the highest mangroves exposed... Capricorn Conservation Council (CCC) opposes Xstrata’s plans for the industrial development of Balaclava Island for a coal export facility in the Fitzroy River Delta on environmental grounds.
CCC totally supports the prohibition of vehicles from the Orange Bowl and the Willies Creek area. Driving into the Orange Bowl and surrounding dunes by four wheel driving hoons in the past has caused appalling destruction and vandalism of a beautiful natural area.
This campaign focussed on saving the Tallarook Forest (VIC) from logging.
