(May 06, 2016) Currently there are some 50,000 abandoned mines across the country. The companies have simply walked away and left the sites un- rehabilitated. Lock the Gate is running a campaign to stop the rot and make sure the industry is held accountable and fixes up its mess. The close-knit community of Wollar in the upper Hunter Valley has already endured a decade of suffering from the nearby Wilpinjong coal mine. Now the mine owners want to expand the project to within 1.5km of the village, spelling the end for Wollar. Please help! Make a submission.

Raise awareness within the Lane Cove Electorate of the impacts of coal and coal seam gas in general and to communicate community concerns to local MPs

The Plastic Waste Reduction Campaign was initiated in 2010 by the Lane Cove Sustainability Action Group, Take 3 - A Clean Beach Initiative, Marrickville Council and some passionate individuals with a view to lobby the NSW Government for (initially) a ban on plastic shopping bags.

Korean power company Kepco has lodged an application with the NSW Government to develop a 6.5 million tonne coal complex comprising two open-cuts and an underground mine in the iconic and gorgeous Bylong Valley. The government is taking public submissions on the company's Environmental Impact Statement until 6th November 2015.
