The proposed Great Forest National Park will allow the Mountain Ash forests of the Central Highlands to recover. The Park will also create new jobs and enterprises for regional communities in the Central Highlands.

After a ten year campaign the NSW State Government announced in May 2010, they could NOT proceed with their plans to operate an open cut coal mine. However, the decision only referred to an open cut mine. NOT an underground mine. In February 2012, Bickham Coal Company announced plans to investigate underground mining.

We have adopted a target of reducing plastic pollution of our waterways by 70% by 2020. Already we have convinced NSW, Qld, ACT and WA to implement a container refund scheme; and are pressing to expand the plastic bag bans across the nation.

We are working with dozens of community groups who are determined to challenge this short term planning, by mobilising public support for new laws to prevent the sell-off of parks, by keeping and extending our shade giving trees, and preserving remaining bushland habitat.

This campaign calls for better bus stop infrastructure - including shaded shelters to protect from the heat. They are creating a map of bad bus stops around Western Sydney.
